Abstract: The paper provides a theoretical framework that aims at improving BIM validation by automating the verification of information quality and consistency and integrating blockchain-based smart contracts to track the process and shorten the appointment completion. Despite information management using BIM is currently leading the digitalisation in construction, especially in the design phase, misunderstandings about requirements, non-compliant information and late deliveries were detected. For these reasons, the proposed framework integrates innovative technologies and points out their potential impact on automatic information validation, reduction of late deliveries and overdue payments. Though the framework is not yet fully tested, potential outcomes are discussed.
