Terms of Use

Placing an order through the conference website signifies that you enter into a distance selling agreement, which is governed by current European Laws. You need to fill in the relevant form requesting necessary data to enter into the sales agreement.

Ways of payment

There are two alternative methods of payment for registering on EC³ from our website:

  • By credit or debit card: Payments are processed using the online payment service Stripe. Accepted cards include Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
  • By direct bank transfer: Conference registration fees can be wire transferred to the EC3‘s bank account. Bank account details are provided when registering for this conference.

Security

We take the importance of safety in electronic transactions very seriously. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure the payment services are delivered with the highest security. Stripe who is the intermediary providing the payment service complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider  this is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

Ensuring Data Transfer Security

To ensure data transfer security this site requires all connections to happen over https using TLS (SSL). All connections and communications to the Conference website, Conference Mangement Tool, and the payment processing service occur over secured layers. For payment processing, an EV SSL-256bit certificate is used to ensure security in communications.

Cryptography

From the beginning to the conclusion of your online session, all information and personal data are encrypted using 256-bit Transport Layer Security. Every time you make a payment with Stripe, all communication between your computer and Stripe systems is encrypted using a 256 bit EV key from DigiCert. This means that each time you send information to the system, your browser encrypts the data and then transmits the encrypted data to the system. The Stripe system first decrypts the data obtained using the same key (assigned as soon as the connection is initiated with the service) and processes it. The same encryption process is utilised by Stripe’s systems to transfer data back to your browser.

Transaction Privacy

Stripe is a payment institution operating in full compliance with all European laws. The same basic principles that apply to traditional banking also apply to Stripe. All information supplied by the cardholder to Stripe is confidential. Regarding PCI-DSS certification, EC³ and Stripe have taken all necessary steps deemed necessary in the context of the services provided.
