Conference Travel & Attendance Supplement
This year we want to give everyone the opportunity to attend the 2026 EC³ Conference. That’s why we’ve created a Conference Travel and Attendance supplement that anyone can apply for!
Criteria for Selection:
The supplement can be provided to students and scholars at any career stage who are registered at an accredited academic institution worldwide and are studying or conducting research in a subject related to EC3’s mission. Candidates should have a contribution at the conference, i.e., a paper, poster, workshop or participation in the Thesis-in-Three competition. The following selection criteria apply:
- Financial Need: Priority will be given to candidates demonstrating financial need. This needs to be substantiated with evidence. The submission should describe and itemise how the support supplement will be used.
- Academic Excellence: Candidates should have a strong academic record corresponding to their career stage.
- Relevance to Conference: Candidates whose research interests align with the conference theme will be given preference.
- Motivation and Commitment: Candidates must submit a compelling motivation for attending the conference and a clear commitment to actively participating in EC3 activities.
Selection Procedure:
- Application Submission: Candidates submit their applications using the provided application form (see below).
- Initial Screening: Selection committee reviews all applications for completeness and adherence to guidelines.
- Shortlisting: Committee members independently shortlist candidates based on the criteria. Shortlisted candidates are those who demonstrate a strong match with the criteria. If not enough applications are submitted, then the committee selects from those submitted.
- Joint Review Meeting: The selection committee meets to discuss the shortlisted candidates. Each committee member presents their findings and arguments for or against each candidate.
- Final Selection: Committee members collectively decide on the final list of scholarship recipients. The decision is based on a consensus or a voting process if needed.
- Notification: Selected candidates are notified of their supplement award
Scope of the Supplement:
Candidates awarded the supplement will receive up to 500 EUR, as well as waived conference registration fee, including the gala dinner.
