Structured Innovation in Construction Value Engineering Through LLM-Assisted TRIZ Reasoning

Abstract: This study proposes an integrated framework that enhances idea generation in construction VE by leveraging LLMs to facilitate the application of TRIZ. The framework systematically incorporates project-specific contextual information into an LLM-driven TRIZ reasoning process. It enables context-aware abstraction of technical contradictions, retrieval of relevant inventive principles, and generation of solution ideas. By bridging TRIZ-based structured ideation with VE context, this approach supports more relevant and feasible creativity without requiring deep TRIZ expertise, demonstrating the feasibility of integrating LLM-assisted TRIZ reasoning into VE workflows.
