The Education Committee is a permanent committee of the EC3 and reports to the Board. This committee has the responsibility for advancing the research, innovation and policy agenda of EC3 on all matters relevant to computing education in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Facilities Management (AEC/FM) sector.

The committee fosters dialogue between academia, industry and policymakers to shape how computing and digital technologies are taught, learned and embedded across construction education at all levels. Its scope includes curriculum design and pedagogical innovation for computing in construction, the development of competency frameworks for digital skills across the AEC/FM workforce, immersive and technology-enhanced learning environments, continuing professional development and lifelong learning pathways, and education policy informing the digital transformation of the construction sector.

The committee coordinates the EC3 Summer School, supports the adjudication of the Smith Prize for outstanding contributions to computing education, and works to identify and disseminate best practices in teaching and learning. It liaises with relevant industry bodies, professional associations and funding organisations to align education priorities with the evolving needs of the European construction sector.
