Information needs in digital products passport – discussing data framework and reasonability
DOI: 10.35490/EC3.2023.244
Abstract: Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are cross-sectorial digital containers with relevant characteristics of products meant to enable a circular economy. The ecodesign directive proposal sets the background requirements for DPPs and bridges with the construction products regulation (CPR) for construction product singularities. Despite this streamlined vision, there are many challenges and key stakeholders, as manufacturers, need to be engaged and considered. This work discusses their role, DPPs data framework and the reasonability of the data requirements facing the present situation. The sector’s ability to accomplish sustainability goals is heavily reliant on this accomplishment, and the scenario is still foggy.
