Better Urban Management: A Systematic Review of Multi-Scale Digital Modelling

Abstract: Digital modelling has significantly progressed. Many scholars have reviewed and summarized the research of digital modelling. However, the reviewer needs to consider the practical applications of digital modelling at different scales. Multi-scale digital modelling (MSDM) refers to digital models that contain different levels of geometric or semantic details. This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) of MSDM. Distributed energy generation is one of the most worthwhile research directions. In the future, distributed energy generation systems – energy storage systems – and buildings or urban infrastructure should be interconnected based on MSDM.
