Abstract: Building Information Modeling (BIM) promises advantages for Facility Management (FM) by integrating the lifecycle phases of a building. Especially the optimized start-up phase is mentioned as one key advantage of the BIM method. In order to implement a successful start-up, a holistic as-built model is necessary, in which all relevant information for FM is stored. Actually, for the generation of an as-built model a high manual effort is necessary. This paper aims to develop an automated as-built model by using delivery documents. Therefore, this paper presents a process using Optical Character Recognition and analyze the process in a proof-of-concept.
