Abstract: Building Information Modelling has become a prominent trend in the built environment. Despite numerous countries mandating BIM adoption in this context, its integration into transportation infrastructure, notably railway, has proceeded gradually. Asset Management is a relatively novel concept in the transportation infrastructure sector due to the growing importance of the life cycle. This study offers understanding of BIM-based AM in railway via a systematic literature review (SLR). Although several studies delve into railway BIM-based applications across various life cycle phases, previous research has predominantly centred on the design and construction phases. This paper presents a current comprehensive view and propose further research direction.
