Abstract: The well-planned utilization of resources is the key aspect of an efficiently operated construction project. This research proposes optimizing equipment utilization through an Indoor Positioning System (IPS). Using Real-time movement data from the construction site, we developed a mechanism to track the daily usage of the equipment. The workflow consists of BLE beacon system that sends signals to a cloud-based database connected to a user-friendly analytical dashboard. After analyzing the data through predefined heuristics, it sends an alert message to the user’s dashboard. This helps the planners to make effective decisions to reduce idle time and use site resources efficiently.
