Generation of acoustic ontology for a holistic building performance domain
DOI: 10.35490/EC3.2023.166
Abstract: The building performance domain suffers from inaccurate, incomplete, or repeating information due to application-specific data structures, which leads to poor data integrity and interoperability. In particular, no building acoustic ontology with a generalized and integrated data structure has been published. This study aims to create a unified and generalized building acoustic ontology based on reverse engineering over acoustic software applications. The study is a starting point for design of a domain-specific ontology as a knowledge repository by serving the building acoustic performance principles in generalized conceptual modeling and linking semantics and object relations in a building information graph.
